As a hunter, having the right gear can make all the difference between a successful outing and a frustrating experience. Now, I’m always looking to improve my gear and recently, so I made some purchases that are already paying results. From trekking poles to mounting systems, let’s dive into how these tools can enhance your hunting experience.
Hunting is not just about the chase; it’s about preparation and the tools you have at your disposal. Quality gear can improve your stability, precision, and overall efficiency in the field. The right equipment allows you to focus on the hunt itself rather than worrying about your setup.
Trekking Poles
First off, I recently adopted the use of aluminium trekking poles. After the first rrip I realised the poles provided great support when crossing steep, and deep Brisbane Valley wash outs and Gulleys.
Quick Stix System
Carrying multiple pieces of equipment can be a literally be pain, so if you can combine your gear, not can reduce both the weight, and space required.
The Wiser Precision Quick Stix System allows you to easily connect your trekking poles to create a stable bipod. This setup is particularly useful when you are waiting in ambush over a dam, feeding area of any other area that holds Deer. Since the first day testing, I’ve now used the trekking pole bipod to take two Deer, so they work.
The Sparrow Binocular Adapter
Binoculars are essential for spotting game. When you’re on the move, a bino chest rig helps you keep your binos handy, which means you spend more time glassing, and less time getting the in, and out of your backpack.
The trouble is when you sit and glass for longer periods, you really want something that can support your binos. Sticking with the theme of multi purposing your gear, Wiser Precision have the developed The Sparrow Bino Adapter, a compact mounting system that clamps onto your binoculars, allowing you again to use your trekking poles for hands-free viewing.
The real upside to the Sparrow adapter is that even when fitted, its small enough to still allow your binos to fit into your chest rig, so you can keep the adapter attached throughout the day.
Upgrading your hunting gear is not just about having the latest gadgets; it's about enhancing your effectiveness in the field. By incorporating trekking poles, a bipod attachment, and a binocular rig into your hunting kit, you can improve your stability, precision, and overall performance.
